The Club's programme of classes is revised every 3 months to take into account your views.

Classes must be booked via telephone on 01235 206777. Bookings cannot be made by e-mail.
A minimum of 5 people are needed to run a class, so to avoid disappointment please call and
reserve your place at least 1/2 hour before the class is due to commence.

 

ABS BLAST
A 30 minute class specifically designed to target the abdominals. All abilities welcome.
AQUA
A fun and energetic class using the natural resistance of the water, along with the use of additional equipment for dynamic toning and core stability training. All levels.
BODY ATTACK
It is a simple, high intensity group fitness class that's fully optioned to cater for all levels. You'll experience high-energy sports training moves for cardiovascular fitness, along with the upper and lower body conditioning exercises for building strength.
BODY BALANCE
It is the Yoga, T'ai Chi and Pilates work-out that leaves you feeling long, strong, centred and calm. Its your personal 'time out' from the stress and strains of daily life - a group fitness class that enhances your physical and mental wellbeing.
BODY COMBAT
It is a non-contact, martial arts based fitness programme with moves drawn from Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and T'ai Chi. Each 55 minute class provides an exhilarating exercise experience that delivers ultra-fast fitness results.
BODY JAM
It is the world's greatest dance-party - a new generation fitness class that unlocks everyone's rhythmic and dancing instincts, an addictive fusion of dance and aerobic moves. It adds new meaning to the concept of having fun while getting fit.
BODY PUMP
It's the fastest way to shape up and lose body fat. It is a toning and conditioning class with weights and is for just about everybody. It's perfect to add strength training into an aerobic work-out. The simplicity of the class makes it a great starting point to develop strength and confidence. Hot sounds and compelling choreography keep you going through each 45 minute or one hour work-out.
BODY STEP
It is a simple, athletic and fun work-out using an adjustable step platform. Some of the benefits you can expect to achieve in this class are toning for the lower body, increased cardio fitness and coordination, and upper and lower body conditioning for functional strength.
BODY VIVE
It is ideally suited to active adults in their 40s, 50s and 60s, who seek the motivation and benefits of low-impact group exercise that delivers results. The programme structure integrates: aerobic exercise for heart fitness; resistance training for strength and stability, and stretching and mobility work. Using balls, resistance tubes and optional hand-weights, you enjoy a varied work-out that activates and empowers your body.
BOXERCISE
A cardio, fat burning class based on boxing training techniques. One of the most effective forms of cross training and an excellent stress busting class. The main focus will be on upper body conditioning, working the arms, abs, chest and shoulders. Everyone welcome, come and give it a try!
DANCE AEROBICS
An interval based class combing traditional aerobic moves with easy to follow dance choreography for nonstop moving and grooving. Have a wiggle and giggle while you get slinky for summer! All abilities welcome.
KARATE CLUB
Wado-Ryu is a traditional style of Karate; ideal for increasing your confidence and self awareness. It is superb for all round fitness, strength and flexibility. Taught by 4th Dan and 3rd Dan black belts with extensive experience, this is a friendly class which is excellent for men and women. The classes are a mixture of learning basic techniques, kumite (sparring), fitness training and kata. Karate teaches you how to defend yourself whilst developing your coordination, speed and power.
LBT BLAST
30 minutes of toning exercises targeting the legs, bums and tums! The perfect way to shape up for summer and work towards that bikini body, one not to be missed! The sessions will be held up on the mezz with a member of the gym team. All abilities welcome.
PILATES
The need for core training is very much on the increase as is the increase in back ailments. Pilates is about improving the strength of your internal back muscle which is done by working on your transverses abdomens and pelvic floor muscles. The classes are mat based with possibly variations of small Pilates equipment; blocks, the circle and resistance bands. Pilates can help you to understand how to use the body better in every day life. It will help to work the postural muscles, lengthen the muscles and focus on simply breathing better. The classes all have complete cross sections of abilities and very often people with injuries or who are pregnant are amongst them. There are many variations on the postures we’re using and we encourage mind and body awareness so everyone works to their own pace and ability. Pilates can be started at any age and at any fitness level, for great results as little as one class per week can make the difference to your body. The results are addictive!
RPM
It is a 50 minute indoor cycling class based on outdoor riding. You ride to inspirational music over the equivalent of 20-25 kilometres of varied terrain, controlling the intensity of your work-out with a resistance dial and pedal speed.
RUN
A 60 minute interval based running session. Everyone welcome from complete beginners to advanced. This session will help you to improve your running technique, increase distance and improve your fitness. Come and give it a try.
SWIM
A 60 minute swim session for all abilities. Improve your stroke, build up stamina, maintain fitness and increase distance at your own pace. Something for everyone.
TOTAL BODY WORKOUT
A 60 minute total body workout using body weight resistance improving cardio fitness and toning the body. All abilities welcome.
TRIATHLON CLUB
Train with a like-minded group in this rapid growing sport. A 90 minute session, dedicated to the swim/ bike/run disciplines, catering for all levels of experience from first-time 'novices' to experienced 'racers' Sessions are a mixture of swim only, run/bike and swim/bike/run, all in a welcoming and positive group environment. Take on the challenge of a Triathlon, and discover just how fit you can become! Ask at reception for session details.
WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
A 45 minute session to discuss weight management. Find out how you can achieve your goals and find a long term strategy to weight management.
YOGA
This class has sequenced postures so the practice flows and opens up the body in a safe, sensible manner. The positions reflect fitness in general so people who do a fair amount of aerobic activity can access the great feeling of their muscles being lengthened. You can see a steady improvement in the holding of the postures and it also encourages a calming of the mind which becomes the more important feature of yoga practice. The delayedgratification of achieving your goals helps the mind to focus on patience plus using the breath and being aware of it brings you closer to a content, happy demeanour. The class is for all levels of ability (Iyengar and Ashtanga being the main influences) and is non ranking, options are given and explained depending on the participants natural range of strength and suppleness. Self awareness is encouraged, so to listen to your body and take breaks if desired. The class features some breathing exercises at the beginning and relaxation at the end, where you get to lie down and unwind!
