McTimoney chiropractic at The Park Club.

Chiropractic is a straight forward method of adjusting the bones in the body in order to restore movement, improve function and maintain the correct alignment of the spine, thus ensuring the bodies nerve supply works efficiently.

McTimoney chiropractors use a variety of low force techniques using only their hands to make the adjustments. The treatment is light to receive and the key to their success is in the speed, dexterity and accuracy in which the adjustments are made.

Patients report a wide range of improvements/benefits from receiving the treatment. These include, relief from migraines, neck and shoulder problems, tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome. In the lower back patients have had relief from sciatic pain, increased mobility, decreased pelvic discomfort. These improvements are because the body is no longer receiving incorrect nerve information, therefore the body can start to function at its optimum restoring balance to the body.

Chiropractic can help with:
  back, neck, shoulder pain
pain, discomfort and stiffness in joints and bones
  migraine and tension headaches
  muscular aches and pains.
  sciatica
  whiplashinjuries
  sportinjuries

First treatment with the chiropractor will include a full case history, which requires information regarding your general health background and details of your current symptoms. This information is completely confidential and essential in assessing and analysing your particular problem. Following this a physical examination will be done which includes taking your blood pressure, pulse, testing your reflexes, testing the area of complaint. It is essential to test the area of complaint to assertain the true nature of the problem. Following testing, you will receive your first treatment. However if your chiropractor discovers or suspects a problem which requires further medical investigation, they will refer you to your Gp.

The number of treatments you will require varys depending on the nature of the problem you are receiving treatment for (simple backache will resolve quicker than a sciatic or disc problem), how long you have had the problem for (yesterdays injury will resolve quicker than one you have had for 20 years. Typically most patients will have between 2-6 treatments dependant on your response to treatment however your chiropractor will advise you on this. Once the problem has resolved regular check-ups are advised to keep your spine and other joints functioning correctly, chiropractic is also a preventative treatment and can greatly improve bodily health and well being and relief from stress.
